The procedure of laying on of hands on humans or animals to relieve pain or add comfort is as old as nature. The living body radiates warmth and energy. This energy is the life force itself and has many names in many cultures. The Iroquois call it "Orenda". It is known as "Prana" in India, "Ruach" in Hebrew, and "Chi" in China. In Japan, this energy is "ki" and it is from this that "Reiki" is named.

Chi is defined as "energy, air, breath, vital essence, the energy of the universe". In Reiki, the person who is attuned as a Reiki healer has had her/his body channels opened and cleared of obstructions by the Reiki attunements. She now not only receives an increase in this life energy for her own healing, but becomes connected to the source of all universal Ki or C'hi.

This source can be referred to as the Creator, Universal Energy, or God, whatever the healer is comfortable with. Reiki is not a religion or affiliated with any religion. This life force energy is the source of life itself and is extremely ancient.

While everything in life has Ki, a Reiki attunement connects the receiver in an increased way to its limitless source.

Reiki healing is available by appointment. The person remains fully clothed for the 1 hour session. Cost is up to $50.00 or a donation, depending on your circumstances.

Reiki ATTUNEMENT SESSIONS are offered at three different levels, as was originally taught. A certificate is earned in each.

• Demonstration of attunements
• How to teach Reiki

It is recommended that some time (a month or more, but it varies between individuals) pass between attunement classes, and at least 6 months to a year between II and III. This gives the student time to practice healing and learn the symbols. This is, of course, up to the individual.

Payments are due in full at the beginning of class.
